More Appointments.......
Today I meet with the Radiation Oncology group that will be doing my radiation after surgery. I have a lot of questions about radiation, so I hope they blocked off enough time for me! I think I'm more apprehensive about the radiation, I guess because I just don't know anything about it except that I'm told I will be really tired. As I was driving to work this morning and talking to God I said "God, I am so tired already of going to this appointment and that appointment and I'm just getting started. At least tomorrow is Saturday and I won't have to go to the doctor". After a few minutes He seemed to have changed my attitude and I started to think how can I turn this situation into something positive. And then I thought about all the people that I'm going to meet and come into contact with that under other circumstances I wouldn't. So my prayer today is that maybe somehow God can use me to let His love shine through with a smile, act of kindness, or a kind word.
"And we know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into his plans." Romans 8:28 (TLB)
From a Twitter link of Jim's I am visiting here to express my support for your journey ahead. My sister is a two-time breast cancer survivor. May God bless your words as you share your thoughts. God already knows the answers & we must set about discovering with His help.
ReplyDeleteI am also here because of Jim's twitter link. Good luck to you!! ❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteWe met Jim several times when we were at Graceland and I'm on his Facebook friends' list. We've enjoyed watching your granddaughter grow through pictures Jim has posted so we feel like we already know your family. Please know that we are standing with you in this fight. And I know Jim will be by your side every step of the way. Prayers and positive thoughts for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteAwesome attitude Ali! My hubby went through radiation about 15 years ago and his journey brought many people into our lives as a result! We learned to be grateful for everyday and for all our blessings! God will see u and Big Jim through! God Bless!~ Kim and Rob Atherton
ReplyDeleteAli,
ReplyDeleteI'm here from Jim's Twitter. Briefly, my precious LifeLong Girlfriend dealt with cancer 3 years past. AS of today, she's back to her "pre-cancer" self. We believe the key was to take each step, 1 at a time, head-on. We also believe there would be no "pity", that she would be strong, seek wisdom and guidance from God, and trust the advice and treatment from the professionals. Be strong and know that this too shall pass.
